Emeritus Vineyards was founded by Brice Cutrer Jones and his long-time associates in 1999 when they purchased the historic Hallberg Ranch. Brice was drawn to this property because of the highly sought after Goldridge soil and the marine influence that comes from its proximity to the Pacific Coast.
In their quest to produce the best Pinot Noir The Emeritus Team set out to dry farm their vineyards in 2007. It is now the largest dry farmed vineyard in Sonoma County, possibly in the state.
The ranch was planted and is farmed by Kirk Lokka, who is widely regarded as one of the best growers in Sonoma, his grapes fetch some of the highest prices in the county making some of the most sought after Pinot Noirs.
The Hallberg Ranch is known for top tier fruit and sustainable farming practices. The newly built tasting room is connected to the winery situated on Hallberg Ranch and is open daily from 10am-4pm.
